Emma McManaman, LSW, MSW, MPH

she/her/hers

Emma is dedicated to creating a therapy space where one can "exhale" and truly feel seen and heard. She believes in a collaborative relationship, where clients feel empowered and safe to navigate the complexities of their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Her goal is to help the people she works with cultivate resilience, embrace self-compassion, and live a more fulfilling life on their terms. Emma brings warmth, understanding, and a deep appreciation for each person's unique journey to her sessions.

Emma tailors her methods to suit the individual needs of each client, ensuring that the therapy space feels personalized and comfortable. Emma enjoys using Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help individuals cultivate deeper connection and peace with their authentic selves. She also integrates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques to assist clients in navigating distressing emotions and experiences and create effective coping strategies.

Emma holds a Master's degree in Social Work and a Master's degree in Public Health. Her academic background equips her with a comprehensive understanding of societal dynamics and public health principles, enriching her therapeutic approach with a holistic perspective on individual and community well-being. Before her work at Room to Breathe, Emma worked extensively with individuals in the LGBTQ+ community, specifically struggling with anxiety, stigma, and shame.
