Hannah Lee, LSW

she/her/hers

I love building relationships with clients, and helping you explore the patterns, past experiences, and circumstances that shape your life today. I believe that everyone brings strengths and skills to their healing journey, and that taking time to care for yourself and heal can be a radical, transformative act. I use a trauma-informed approach, which means co-creating safety and autonomy in session so that you can build trust in yourself.

I am a biracial Chinese-English immigrant, feminist, and parent, and I am curious about how each person’s identities inform their experiences and relationship to mental health care. I practice a relational approach in therapy and borrow tools from narrative therapy, mindfulness, body awareness, and “parts” work.

I am a graduate of UIC's Jane Addams School of Social Work. I earned a BA and MA in International Development and Social Change from Clark University in Massachusetts, which is where I brought together my passion for social justice and my love for working with people. I am a graduate of Room To Breathe's psychologically sensitive yoga teacher training and trained in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International. Before my role as a therapist, I worked with first generation college students; families experiencing homelessness; and on incarceration and reproductive justice issues.

I know that it takes courage and persistence to reach out for support, and I’m always honored when I get to be a part of someone’s journey. You can learn more about me on Instagram @_therapywithhannah, and you can also find me teaching a weekly class online with Room To Breathe, and supporting the practice’s community engagement efforts.
