(She/They)
My therapeutic practice prioritizes an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, compassion-focused, and harm-reductionist approach that centers the individual and their specific context, values, and strengths. I utilize various techniques such as mindfulness, acceptance, somatic, and parts-based approaches to help my clients live a more fulfilling and embodied life that aligns with their values. As a former bodyworker/clinical massage therapist, I am passionate about centering the mind-body connection and incorporating an embodied approach into my therapeutic practice.
My work centers marginalized identities, including those who are chronically ill, disabled, queer, TGNC, poly, and/or kinky. My lived experiences navigating chronic illness, ableism, survivorship, and Bi+ invisibility have taught me compassion and the importance of rest as an act of resistance against oppressive systems. In the words of Audre Lorde, self-care “is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.”
I earned my Master's degree in Clinical Social Work with certificates in Contextual Behavioral Practices and Trauma-Informed Care from the University of Chicago's School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice. My clinical foundation is rooted in Contextual Behavioral Science, particularly Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). However, I am also drawn to Internal Family Systems (IFS), and participated in the IFS Institute's 'Online Circle' program.
